How much does it cost to sell on Amazon?
What you pay to sell on Amazon differs from situation to situation. It depends, among other things, on your selling plan, what you sell and how you ship your orders. This way, you can put together a cost structure yourself that suits your online shop and plans.

Selling plan
Amazon offers two selling plans: an individual plan and a professional plan. The plan that works best for you depends on how much you sell and how you want to grow.
Referral fees
For each product sold, you pay a referral fee to Amazon. The amount of the referral fee depends on the product category. In most cases, it is between 8% and 15% of the selling price.
Fulfilment fees
You can ship your orders yourself or have Amazon handle the shipping. The costs depend on the option.
Other fees
In some cases, additional costs are added, such as for long-term storage or optional services such as advertising.
Changes to European referral fees and fulfilment rates
In 2026, we will significantly reduce costs in our EU stores. On average, sellers will pay €0.17 less per product sold.
Following on from the reduction in shipping fees per delivery in 2025,
- the FBA shipping fees are decreasing again as of 15 December 2025. In the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy and Spain, this will save an average of €0.32 per order shipped.
- In addition, the referral fee for Clothing and Accessories is being reduced:
- from 8% to 5% for items priced at or up to €15
- from 15% to 10% for items priced between €15 and €20
From 5 January 2026, we will reduce the referral fee in the following categories:
- - Home Products (new category): from 15% to 8% for items priced at or up to €20
- Pet Clothing and Food: from 15% to 5% for items priced at or up to €10
- Grocery and Gourmet, and Vitamins, Minerals and Supplements (new category): from 8% to 5% for items priced at or up to €10 - In addition, we are extending the reduced FBA rates to items priced at or up to €20 in most categories. For these additional products, the FBA costs will be falling by an average of €0.45 per item sold.
Getting paid and paying fees
When you set up a seller account, you will provide a credit card and bank account. The fees are deducted from your credit card. Amazon automatically transfers the proceeds from your sales to your bank account.

FEES
Fulfilment fees
Shipping fees depend on how you fulfil your orders. You can choose to handle the shipping yourself or outsource the logistics to Amazon. In the latter case, Amazon provides storage, shipping and customer service, and your items are eligible for Prime delivery.
You only pay for what you use
Amazon's fee structure is flexible. This makes it easier to price competitively and to keep up with your sales.
If you use shipping via Amazon, you only pay for the services you purchase. There are no subscription fees, contracts or minimum inventory requirements. You send your items to an Amazon fulfilment centre and pay for the processing and storage you actually use.

Other fees
When calculating the full cost of selling in Amazon stores, be sure to consider additional selling fees you may incur, and optional programmes designed to help you increase your sales
Additional selling fees
Inventory fees
If you store inventory in an Amazon fulfilment centre (available to selling partners who use FBA or MCF), in addition to monthly inventory storage fees, you may also incur other fees, such as long-term storage fees and removal fees.
High-volume listing fees
The high-volume listing fee will only apply if you exceed 2 million SKUs per month. It will be applied to your highest number of SKUs above 2 million at any time during that month. For each active non-media SKU over 2 million, a fee of €0.0004 per SKU will apply.
Refund administration fees
If you refund a customer for an order for which you have already received payment, Amazon will refund you the amount of the referral fee you paid for the item(s), minus the applicable Refund Administration Fee, which is the lesser of €5.00 or 20% of the applicable referral fee.
For example, if you refund a customer the €10.00 total sales price of an item in a category with a 15% referral fee, your Refund Administration Fee will be €0.30 (€10.00 x 15% referral fee = €1.50).

Optional programmes
Amazon Advertising
Attract customers to your products, even if they are not actively looking for them, and increase the chance of them making a purchase. Amazon Advertising uses a cost-per-click pricing model, which means you set the maximum amount that you are willing to pay when a customer clicks your ad.
Fulfilment by Amazon
Amazon takes care of your shipping, returns, and customer service. Special FBA programmes like FBA Small and Light, FBA Dangerous Goods, Multi-Channel Fulfilment (MCF) and European FBA Solutions help you remain competitive. You only pay for the services you use.

How are Amazon FBA fees calculated?
FBA fees are calculated based on the type and size of the product and the channel on which the items are being sold. These cover the costs of storing your items in Amazon fulfilment centres, picking, packaging and shipping them once they are bought, and providing customer care.
These fees are charged per calendar month for all items stored in Amazon fulfilment centres. You can estimate your fees using the FBA revenue calculator for specific units offered on Amazon.

What is the FBA calculator?
The FBA calculator is a tool that you can use to check and compare the estimated revenue for all the available fulfilment options for the products you have listed on Amazon and registered for Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA). You can also compare the fees and profitability between different fulfilment methods.
What is the difference between Amazon fees and FBA fees?
Amazon fees refer to the charges all sellers have to pay in order to have products listed and sold on our website. This includes the referral fee, which is a percentage of the total selling price per unit sold. Then, based on your selling plan, you may incur a per-item fee or a monthly fee. Apart from this, certain sellers may also need to pay additional fees, either for premium services or marketing or for other reasons. You can refer to this page for more comprehensive information.
Fulfilment fees, on the other hand, are only charged for products that you have listed under this particular service. It covers the cost to store, pick, pack and ship your products using FBA. If you have opted for this, these fees will be charged along with the other Amazon fees mentioned above.

How much does Amazon charge to store products?
Sellers have to pay inventory storage fees for all units stored in Amazon fulfilment centres. This is calculated based on the daily average volume of the inventory, which is measured in cubic feet in the UK, and cubic metres in Europe.
The fee per cubic foot/metre varies based on the calendar month — it is lower from January to September, and a slightly higher amount is charged for the year-end, high-traffic months from October to December. The exact amount also depends on the category your product falls into, as well as its dimensions (size).
There is a separate fee structure for the storage of items that are classified as hazmat or dangerous goods.
